Is the Opteka 420-1600mm worth buying an Olympus E500?
I know that one gets what one pays. Just wondering if the lens performs adequately with a tripod. Thanks for any advice.
I have that goal. It is actually a 420-800mm lens and comes with a 2X multiplier. Here's how it goes all the way up to 1600mm. This is a lens mount and T is completely manual. With the 2X multiplier to obtain the equivalent of a 32X zoom. I have never used the 2X multiplier for the shots I still, I never needed to get that close. The main problem is that this is a zoom lens and movement even minuscule can distort the images. Also is of no use for night shots simply too dark. For shots a day, you get good quality with a tripod. I bought this for situations specific (<1% of my shots), and have been happy with the results.
