Wildlife photography is such a field of inspiration, it is easy to see why so many photographers, both amateur and professional, fascinated by this exercise rewarding.

Choose a good subject for a picture of wildlife is not difficult. The variety of characters in the animal kingdom is a rich source of material. Even better, some of the best songs can be found in cities, even in our own backyards. You do not have to be an intrepid world traveler to enjoy a pastime rewarding as a photographer of wildlife.

It can be a real challenge to capture natural looking photos in a suburban setting. If you can remove any man distractions of your photo, you can create the illusion of an image captured in a totally natural environment.

A really bad background can ruin the impact a wildlife theme well, but how about it? Of course, these days there are plenty of people who would just edit out using a computer, but (I believe or not) most people still prefer to rely on their skills instead of in camera software.

Here are some simple tips to help eliminate poor record of your wildlife photos.

The first thing to do is simply position yourelf to find the best angle to take photo. Imagine you are trying to photograph a bird in a tree. On one hand, you may be able to see power lines or the roof of the house in the background. If you move to a better angle, may be able to capture the green foliage of the trees in the background instead.

This may seem obvious, but one reason why not many photos because the photographer does not bother to do this little extra effort.

The second objective is to try to reduce the amount of background that is visible in the photo. This can be as simple as getting as close to the subject and using the most objective. This is a very easy technique. The approach ensures the full fills both the framework as possible. His biggest goal (or the largest of its zoom lens) reduces the field of view in a photo so that the focus on the issue, not the environment.

The added advantage is that a telephoto lens has a small natural depth of field. This means that while the subject is in focus, everything in front and back is a blur. So not only the telephoto objective to reduce the amount of background that is visible in the photo, you can see what must be completely out of focus.

The final step to remove a background that may distract is to open the aperture as wide as possible. This is the simple theory of photography, a large aperture produces a depth narrow field. So if you are already using a large lens, and added a narrow opening, thus reducing the depth of field at its absolute minimum. Now you should be capable of producing almost a three dimensional image, with its very specific theme that emerges from a context totally out of focus.

As can be seen from the simplicity of these guidelines, is easy to reduce the distraction of an attractive background. You do not need fancy equipment or a diploma in photography. All you need is a small additional effort, and understanding how to use the camera you have.

Now consider all the situations where these tips can improve your photos. You could take your pictures of wildlife at the zoo, or in your own backyard and create the impression that they were taken in nature. Even if your fund is not ugly, you can offer a distraction from the main theme. By putting the background out of focus, it becomes a soft color palette that makes the subject really stand out.

The best thing is, it is techniques that can be tested now. With digital cameras it costs nothing to practice - so get out and start snapping!
