- Strobes: Many people do not know what straps are. It is basically a giant external flash. It's like you would a flash in a camera. - Budget Lighting: You can create your own. I've seen this done - in which to take some 2x4 and nail them together and have a white sheet stretched over the 2x4 and then throw your strobe through it. And that creates the soft box. It's basically the same thing. So those are some options for spreading your light. Using window light can work very well, but you need a bedroom window and if you are traveling with this portable studio that I will show you how, you may not have a light in the window of the room. But if you do, only to find another window close to the object and bounce light with a cardboard on the other side or a leaf. Something white. So you can be creative with it. But something white to bounce the light from the other side. And you can build a position or have someone hold on the subject and creates a nice even light too.
