The SD850 IS was announced in May 2007 as a replacement for the PowerShot SD700 IS. There is only one relatively subtle upgrade.
Visually the SD850 is virtually indistinguishable from the older model, and only a handful of changes to the specifications of the camera. Most notable is the 8MP sensor now records images instead of 6 and the resolution of the 2.5 "screen has been increased to 230,000 pixels. hit the" digital heart "on the SD850 is now the last generation of Canon's image processor, DIGIC III. With the new processor there come a couple of new features too: Face Detection and Auto ISO Shift useful option.

# Front: - The front of the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS is the brand on the left side with a metal texture Canon logo and a printed model name. The right side of the front of the camera is a bit busier. The optical zoom lens occupies most of this side. The lens is flat with the rest of the camera body until it is turned on: The following stretches in three segments. Each segment has shiny chrome ring around its edge.
# Left side:-The left side of the SD850 does not have any features. There is medium dark, and panels light silver and two small screws.
# Back side: - The left rear has a 2.5 inch LCD screen surrounded by a dark silver panel. The LCD panel unifies with another visualization tool, the optical viewfinder, directly above it. To the right of the optical viewfinder two small indicator lights LED. Just to the right of them is a small power button with its own LED.
# Highlights: - The shutter release button is on the top of the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS. It is slightly domed, dressed in chrome, and surrounded by a zoom ring that barely moves at all. On the left side of the top is a "stabilizer Image "on the label. Under the label are five holes that make the speaker grill.
# Right side:-The right side has a chrome wrist strap eyelet in the center until it curves slightly. A niche beneath it makes stringing the strap a little less of a chore. Near the top is a plastic door instead of a rubber band Fine. It covers the A / V out port on the top and the USB port on the bottom. Behind it is a small space big enough for the tip of a nail to boot the door open.
Down #: - From the bottom, users can see the slight wedge shape of the SD850. The wedge is interrupted by fat panel the LCD. Near the right side is a quarter inch metal tripod making pellets surrounded to keep the camera from scratching on a tripod mounting plate.
Picture quality: - Photo quality was very good in the SD850 IS. The camera took well exposed photos with pleasing, accurate colors. The sharpness is in the middle: not too sharp, not too soft (and this can be adjusted if desired). Noise is minimal until you reach ISO 400, with ISO 800 is useful for small prints (ISO 1600, however, is not). Purple fringing was not a problem. The negatives in the image quality department include blurred vision remarkable eye corner red and severe, which are common in ultra-compact class. While there is not much you can do with blurred vision (not seen in all but the largest prints, however), you can use the tool in playback mode to get rid of red eyes.
Results: - Camera performance is excellent. The SD850 is ready to shoot in about one second, which is above average. Focusing times were very good, even in low light situations. Shutter lag was not a problem, and shot to shot delays were minimal. While the burst rate is not high, the SD850 can keep shooting at 1.3 frames / second until your card high-speed memory is full. Battery life is average in the ultra-compact group and, like all Canon cameras, the SD850 supports the USB 2.0 standard high speed.
This camera is a great little convenient camera that is capable of easily concealed, and taken anywhere, as it slides easily in a purse or pocket. It's a great camera to take pictures with flash indoors and outdoors photos. Not good for stopping the action.
Photos of Children and pets running is often indistinct due to the sec 1 / 60. shutter speed. If you need to take low light or action / sports photos, you'd better buy a cheap digital SLR camera. The only reason I do not give this camera 5 stars is because of the noise at high ISO.
